About this website....only for the really very curious!

The website resides on a high performing hosted platform across multiple servers using a proprietary Dynamic Traffic Management powered through a DWDM Ethernet Backbone (optical technology used to increase bandwidth over existing fiber optic backbones). swisstronix Shared Hosting with Grid Technology are 4th Generation Hosting; secure cloud hosting that's lightning-fast, even during the biggest traffic spikes. On September 4, 2013 we launched this current design based on HTML5 and CSS3 code utilizing the wildly popular Bootstrap, a sleek, intuitive and powerful mobile first front-end framework for faster and easier web development, extended to xtronix needs. This includes Scaffolding, Base CSS, basic styles for common interface components, JavaScript, a dynamic computer programming language and Bootsnipp HTML snippets, wrapped within a striking design within the latest generation of templates. This architecture also provides a highly refined structure of validated, search engine optimized code that uses amazing standardized typography and UI styling.

Responsive Design (RWD)

The novelty in source code is one designed to resize and refactor down based on the size of the web browser parameters of the site when accessed via a tablet or smartphone of any brand and any operating system; a sort of 'intelligent sensor' that knows if the site is being accessed via a mobile device or a laptop / tabletop computer. We leverage the responsive extension for the Bootstrap framework to ensure that this will display appropriately in all devices. Whether a visitor is viewing it on a tablet, desktop or smart phone, the page will render this beautiful design -- sometimes hiding regions that are more glam and glitz than substance, for smartphone viewers.

cross-brouser Of course the site is cross-browser compatible!

multi-format image

Bootstrap supports a handful of media queries in a single file to help make the site more appropriate on different devices and screen resolutions:

Label Layout width Column width Gutter width
Large display 1200px and up 70px 30px
Default 980px and up 60px 20px
Portrait tablets 768px and above 42px 20px
Phones to tablets 767px and below Fluid columns, no fixed widths
Phones 480px and below Fluid columns, no fixed widths

Supported Views

With the adaptive responsive design, the site will adjust to tablets and phones displayed both in portrait or landscape mode.

Adaptive vs. Responsive

Technically speaking, Adaptive and Responsive are not entirely the same but more or less synonyms. In the web design world, however, Adaptive means more hiding/showing of elements based on different screen resolutions, whereas Responsive means the resizing and moving of elements, gradually, based on screen resolution. We used both techniques, together, to make the site respond in the best possible manner for whoever (or whatever device) is viewing our pages. We also use scalable vector graphics which means every icon should look awesome at any size and gorgeous on high-resolution displays such as 'retina' types. In principle this website with its fully responsive architecture will conform to code that allows mobile devices to see things with excellent screen resolution, even on small size smart phones. The main difference will be an auto-restructured navigation layout and the front page image sets that will auto-delete with smartphones. It is also Accessibility Section 508 conformant, and passes WCAG levels 1, 2, and 3.

Search Engine Optimization

The web's architecture provides a highly refined structure of search engine optimized (SEO) code. We took the time to enhance the SEO parameters of every HTML page in the root directory by guiding webbots so as to optimize indexing of each page in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results.

And about....swisstronix Cyber Services

In May 2007 we launched an autonomous, fully automated, secure eCommerce service to cater to world markets, across all continents. It addresses the pillars of the cyber world - Top Level Domain (TLD) name registration and Web Hosting - along with a slew of parallel products & services.

History[edit source | editbeta] (sources: Wikipedia & Verisgn)

The first commercial Internet domain name, in the TLD .com, was registered 15 March 1985 in the name symbolics.com by Symbolics Inc., a computer systems firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts. By 1992, fewer than 15,000 .com domains had been registered.

As of October 2009, 21 generic top-level domains and 250 two-letter country-code top-level domains existed.

According to Verisign, four million domain names were added to the Internet in the third quarter of 2014, bringing the total number of registered domain names to 284 million worldwide across all top-level domains (TLDs) as of Sept. 30, 2014.

The increase of four million domain names globally equates to a growth rate of 1.6 percent over the second quarter of 2014. Worldwide registrations have grown by 18.1 million, or 6.8 percent, year over year.

The .com and .net TLDs experienced aggregate growth in the third quarter of 2014, reaching a combined total of 130.0 million domain names in the adjusted zone for .com and .net. This represents a 3.3 percent increase year over year. As of Sept. 30, 2014, the base of registered names in .com equaled 114.9 million names, while .net equaled 15.1 million names.

New .com and .net registrations totaled 8.7 million during the third quarter of 2014. In the third quarter of 2013, new .com and .net registrations totaled 8.3 million.

Through the swisstronix eCommerce, customers from around the globe can book generic Top Level Domains (TLD), such as .COM, .NET, .ORG, .CH, .EU, .INFO, .BIZ, .MOBI and .WS. Over 400 TLDs spanning the Americas, Europe and Asia can be booked on the fly with a few clicks.

In addition to the basic domain names, swisstronix also proposes:

Private Registrations: Keeps your personal information private, protecting you from spam, scams and prying eyes.

Transfers: Fast, automated and risk-free. Transfer your domains to swisstronix SecurePay Network at very low prices! Includes a 1-year extension.

Backorders: Monitor vital changes to any domain and secure your chance to backorder that domain at special savings.
