An SX 100 purchase by the Department of Earth Science, to improve the performance of their current SX 50 lab. The instrument will be used for geological applications; some services will be performed for the Material Science Department as well.

The newly acquired SX 100 Electron Probe MicroAnalyzer was inaugurated on April 29, 2009 in presence of key Indian geologists of GSI, Bangalore.
